5 lb. first cut brisket
1 large Spanish onion, peeled and sliced
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 dollop ketchup
3-4 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste (at least 1 tsp. salt)
2 tbsp. paprika

Directions:
Directions:
Salt and pepper brisket and brown on both sides. Add onions and keep browning until onions are golden, turning meat so as not to burn. Add paprika and spread on both sides of meat. Cover with remaining ingredients.

Cover roaster with foil and bake at 350º for 3 hours. Uncover and bake an additional ½ hour. This may be sliced and frozen for later use.
