1 1/2 cups lard (I use Crisco)
2 cups sugar
2 cups raisins
3 1/2 cups cold water
4 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp Allspice
1 tsp salt

Optional:
1 cup nuts
1 cup dates

Directions:
Directions:
Bring all the ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat and cool.

Add 2 tsp soda dissolved in a little water. Add 4 cups flour or until you have a stiffer dough then for cake. Put in two greased and floured loaf plans. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour until done.
