¾ C Shortening
1 C Brown Sugar packed firm
½ C sugar
1 t vanilla
3 C Quaker Oats
1 C flour
1 t salt
½ t baking soda
1 egg
¼ C wqter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Cream shortening, sugars, egg, water, ans vanilla
Add all remaining ingredients and mix well
Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet
Bake 12 - 15 minutes

for variations add nuts, dates, chocolate chips, raisins, coconut
