Candy thermometer required.

1 c. butter or margarine
2 ¼ c. brown sugar (1 pound)
dash salt
1 c. light corn syrup
1 15 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter. Add sugar and salt. Stir. Then stir in corn syrup and mix well. Gradually add milk stirring constantly over medium heat till soft ball stage or 245º on candy thermometer (about 12-15 minutes) Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Pour into 9 x 9 x 2" pan. Cool and cut into squares. Wrap in candy papers.
