Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Cups Sugar
3 Eggs
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 T Cinnamon
1½ Cups Veg Oil
¼ Cup Orange Juice
3 Cups Flour
¼ tsp Salt
1 T Vanilla
Butter for Pan

3 Cups peeled and finely chopped Apples
1 Cup Pecans or Walnuts

1 stick Butter
1 Cup Sugar
½ Cup Buttermilk
½ tsp Baking Soda

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. This cake can be made in a 13x9 pan or a Bundt Pan. Grease pan with butter from 1st group of ingredients. Combine all other ingredients from 1st group, then fold in apples and nuts. The batter will be gummy from the amount of oil in the batter. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake the cake for approx. 1½ hrs. in a Bundt pan or approx. 1¼ hrs. in a 13x9 pan. As soon as the cake is done baking, remove from oven. Using the rest of the ingredients, group 3: melt butter, add sugar, buttermilk and baking soda in a large pan. Bring to a rolling boil for 1 minute. Mixture will foam up and almost triple in volume from the baking soda so make sure to use a large enough pan. While cake is still in the pan and hot, pour mixture over entire cake, making sure to cover completely. Use a toothpick to make holes all over to allow mixture to seep in and soak the cake. Let stand 1 hour to completely soak through and cool off. Serve plain, dust with powdered sugar, or with whipped cream
