Salad dressing

1/2 cup olive oil...
5 T white wine vinegar...
1 T mayonnaise...I prefer Hellman's....
1T sugar...
1 garlic clove finely grated...
1 1/2 t dried oregano...

Salad mixture

1 small head of Iceberg or Romaine lettuce, chopped and core removed...
1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced...
2 oz. Provolone piccante cheese, thin sliced and cut into thin strips...
1 cup drained mozzarella balls, torn in half...
8 small tomatoes, cut in half, I prefer grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes...

Whisk oli, vinegar, mayonnaise, sugar, oregano in a small bowl...
Add salt and ground black pepper and whisk in...
Set aside...

Salad directions

Chop lettuce, leaving out the core...
Add the onion, cheeses and tomatoes...
Drizzle the dressing over all and toss, you will not use all salad dressing...
Enjoy!

You can add the small pepperoni rounds after plating salad, sunflower seeds, roasted, croutons, etc....
Serve with crusty bread and your choice of entree....

Suggest a good Italian meal, spaghetti, lasagna or any type pasta. Steak, chops, chicken or lamb also would be good...
