2 cups milk
¼ cup cornstarch
¼ cup cocoa
3 eggs, separated
¼ tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
pie crust, baked
½ cup sugar for meringue

Directions:
Directions:
Put milk in sauce pan over medium heat. Mix cornstarch, cocoa, salt and sugar well and add just enough water to make a smooth paste. Add egg yolks and beat well. When milk gets hot and steams (do not boil) add cornstarch mixture and stir constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Beat very well. Pour into pie crust. Whip the egg whites with sugar until stiff peaks. Pour on top of pie and seal all edges. Bake in 350º oven until top is brown and dry.
