2 cups sugar
4 tsp baking soda
1½ vegetable oil
1 tbsp ground ginger
2 eggs
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ cup molasses
1 tsp salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 pkg vanilla baking chips

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the first four ingredients thoroughly. Sift the dry ingredients into the molasses mixture and shape into a ball. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for an hour or two. Shape the cookies into small balls and roll in granulated sugar. Space on parchment and bake 350º for 10-12 minutes. Set aside to cool. Place 1 cup of the baking chips in a sandwich size ziplock bag and microwave on high for 30+ seconds. Massage the mixture in the bag until all lumps are melted then snip a tiny corner out of the bag and squeeze a zig-zag pattern across the tops of the cookies. WOW!

This is a secret recipe from Nan's friend, and Nan vowed not to give it away. But immediate family must not count. This is by far Nan's absolute favorite cookie EVER. It is very easy to make,
