2 Gallon slices cuts
2 C. salt
1 gal. hot water
1 tbsp alum
6 C. vinegar,
10C. sugar,
3/4 tsp each oil of cloves
cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
2 gallon sliced cups
Cover with 2 C. salt & 1 gal. hot water
Let stand 7 days stirring each day
8th day - Drain and cover with hot water
9th day - Drain, cover with hot water and 1 tbsp alum
10th day - Drain well and pour following syrup over 6C. vinegar, 100 C. sugar, 3/4 tsp each oil of cloves and cinnamon
11& 12th day - reheat and pour over cucs
13th day - reheat and seal
