Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 large red apples
½ cup brown sugar
¼ tsp vanilla
dash of cinnamon
a pat of butter per apple

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly wash and dry the apples. Core each apple without going all the way through to the bottom. In other words, make a container out of the apple. Fill the hole in the apple with the mixture of sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Top the brown sugar with a pat of butter. Bake in a pan lined with aluminum foil for 1 hour at 275º. Midway through cooking, spoon the melted brown sugar back over the apples and return them to the oven. The apples will be done when they are soft to the touch and the sugar has thoroughly melted. When you pull them out of the oven, everyone will be hungry, so warn everyone that they are hot.

A good choice for a cold winter day. The whole house will smell delicious.
