3 cups bran buds
½ tsp cinnamon
2½ cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 beaten eggs
2½ tsp soda
1½ cups sugar
1 cup boiling water
2 cups buttermilk
½ cup raisins (optional)
½ cup oil

Directions:
Directions:
Mix bran and water. Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon together. Add eggs, sugar, oil, buttermilk and raisins (optional). Stores in refrigerator for weeks!

Hearty and good for you. Granny made this and doubled the raisins – put them in little paper cupcake holders (colored) to cook. She made these for Gramps – fiber, you know.
