12 eggs
14 tbsp sugar
12 tbsp whisky
1½ pints heavy whipping cream
1 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Whip the whipping cream and set aside. Beat the egg whites and set aside. Beat the egg yolks until very light, gradually adding half (7 tbsp) the sugar and the nutmeg. Pour the whisky slowly over the yolks, beating constantly. Fold in the egg whites, then fold in the whipping cream. Ladle into stemware and sprinkle nutmeg over the top.

Gramps loved egg custard and eggnog more than anybody I can remember. It follows that Granny made every effort to make it for him often. This is her recipe. However, as soon as the dairy industry started to sell eggnog, Granny's recipe was filed away and replaced. Tim, you will flip for this recipe since you love eggnog so much.
