1/2 cup corn meal
1/4 cup self-rising flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
Vegetable oil or shortening for frying pan

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together the corn meal, flour and salt. Add in 1 cup water. Let it sit for a few minutes. It should remain thin and kinda watery. Add more water if needed.

Heat up vegetable oil or shortening in a frying pan. Once it is thoroughly hot, pour a small amount of batter in the pan. Cook until the middle starts to set just a little. Then very carefully, flip them over to cook the other side. Carefully remove them so they lacy part doesn't break and then drain on a paper towel.
