"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
Cover the bottom of a baking pan with the pecans - in a single layer.

Cut up 1/2 stick of butter into thin slices on top of the pecans.

Cook in 275º to 300º oven, stirring often.

They will burn easy so check them often, starting at 20 minutes. You can put one in the freezer to cool down enough for you to sample. Ours took 40 minutes to cook.

Once they are done, remove from oven and sprinkle salt on top. Remove from the pan to cool so that they don't continue cooking on the hot pan.
