2-1/2 cups sugar
3 sticks butter
8 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
4-1/2 cups self-rising flour - divided
1 box white raisins
1/2 lb. each: red and green cherries (candied fruit)
1/2 lb. each: red and green pineapple (candied fruit)
2 quarts pecans - chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter together thoroughly. Add one egg at a time, mixing after each. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla and 3-1/2 cups flour.

Cut up all the fruit and pecans; mix with 1 cup flour. Add to the cake batter.

Bake in a 10-inch tube pan in a slow oven (250º) until done. About 2-3 hours.
