1 bunch fresh asparagus
Extra virgin olive oil or olive oil spray
Sea salt

Preheat the oven to 400ºF.

Break off the tough ends of the asparagus and, if they're thick, peel them. Place the asparagus on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, then toss to coat. Spread the asparagus in a single layer and sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper. Roast the asparagus for 25 minutes, until tender but still crisp.

Grill directions:
Grill spears directly over Hot coals for 2 to 3 minutes to desired tenderness.

We have an abundance of asparagus on the Vincent Homestead, thanks to Grandad.
These are basic recipes to celebrate the harvest.

You can always steam the asparagus for 5-10 minutes, or for a faster option microwave till bright green, check for desired tenderness and season to taste. You can also add a quick cheese sauce, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or balsamic vinegar.

I highly recommend planting asparagus if you think your ready to settle down somewhere and put down roots.
