⅔ c sugar
3 Tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp salt
2 c milk
1½ tsp pure vanilla extract
3 eggs
1½ Tbsp butter
3 medium bananas
Vanilla wafers

Directions:
Directions:
1. Whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and salt in medium sauce pan.
2. Add milk, stir, and heat to scalding.
3. Beat eggs in a separate container and add about ½ c hot milk to the beaten eggs and whisk briskly.
4. Return this to sauce pan and continue cooking on low, stirring often, till custard thickens.
5. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter, stirring till smooth.
6. Layer vanilla wafers in a flat bottom bowl or soufflé dish.
7. Add half of the bananas, half of the pudding, and repeat.
8. Add crushed vanilla wafers on top.
