1 c soft shortening -- ½ c shortening and ½ c butter
1½ c sugar
2 eggs
2¾ c flour
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
½ tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400º
2. Thoroughly mix together shortening, sugar, eggs and lay aside.
3. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
4. Combine dry and wet mixtures together; mix thoroughly.
5. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
6. Roll batter into walnut-sized balls then roll in cinnamon mixture.
7. Place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
8. Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly brown and still soft. They will puff up at first then flatten and crack on top when they cool.
