1 1/2 C. raisins
1 1/2 C. nuts
1 1/2 C. boiling water
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 C flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 C. butter
1 1/2 C sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º
Chop raisins & nuts fine, place in a bowl, stir in baking soda & add boiling water & stir.

Let cool 1/2 hour.

Beat butter until creamy. add sugar & beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Scrape bowl, add lemon juice & vanilla.

With mixer on low beat in flour, cinnamon & salt a little at a time.

Bake 30 min

Eat with cream cheese frosting or whipping cream, or ice cream
