4-5 lb. stewing chicken, cut up
4 c. water
1/2 med. onion
2 stalks celery, cut up
salt/pepper
1 bay leaf
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cold water
10 oz. package of frozen peas and carrots (or mixed vegetables)

2 c. Bisquik
2/3 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook chicken in water with onion, celery, bay leaf and salt until tender (2 hours)
Cut meat into large chunks. Skim fat off of broth. Combine flour and water and thicken the broth. Add meat and vegetables.

Dumplings: Mix 2 c. Bisquick and 2/3 c. milk until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls onto boiling stew. Cook uncovered for ten minutes and then cover and cook ten more minutes.
