1 stick butter
½ C vegetable oil
2 C sugar
5 egg yolks
1 C buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
3 ½ oz coconut
1 tsp vanilla
5 egg whites stiffly beaten
½ C chopped pecans

8 oz cream cheese softened
½ stick margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1 lb powdered sugar
Sprinkle with toasted nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and oil. Add sugar; beat well, add egg yolks and beat. Add flour and baking soda alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla, then coconut and nuts. Fold in egg whites. Pour batter in greased and floured pan or pans (9 x 13 or 3 8" layer pans). Bake at 350º for 25 minutes.
