1 15 inch Loaf of french bread
8 oz cream cheese softened with 1 Tablespoon sugar added
10 sliced canned peaches
Nutmeg to taste
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 Tablespoon butter

The evening before:

Cut bread into 1 1/2 inch slices and spread with cream cheese. Grease a 9x13 pan and place slices in the pan.

Place a slice of peach on top of each bread slice and sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon.
(At this point the dish can be frozen and thawed for future use).

Combine eggs, milk, syrup and vanilla in a bowl. Pour over bread and dot with butter.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. uncover and bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until set, cool 5-10 minutes. Serve with warm syrup.
