4 C peeled, sliced fresh peaches
½ C butter or margarine, softened
¾ C sugar
1 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 C boiling water
½ tsp salt
½ C milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
¾ C sugar
1 tsp cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Place peaches in a lightly greased 12 x 8 x 2 baking dish. Set aside. Cream butter; gradually add ¾ C sugar beating well at medium speed.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. stir in milk and vanilla. Pour batter over peaches.

Combine remaining ¾ C sugar and cornstarch. Stir in water. Pour mixture over batter and bake at 375º for 45-50 minutes
