1/2 c. Butter
1 1/2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Water
2 c. Cake flour (1 3/4 c. Flour + 1/4 c. cornstarch)
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
4 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla. Sift flour ,baking powder and salt together add alternately with water . Stiffly beat egg whites and fold into batter. Pour into two 8-9" greased and lined layer cake pans. Bake at 350ºF for 25 -30 minutes.
