Directions:
Directions:
1 quart of whole milk & 1 C Crisco & 1 C sugar..put in large sauce pan. On medium heat scald this mixture, melting shortening and blending sugar. Pour this into mixer bowl to cool. When cool enough to not kill yeast; add 4 Tbsp yeast. Add to 1 cup of all purpose flour, 1 t salt, 1 t baking powder, 1 t soda. Gradually add to milk mixture while kneading with mixer. Continue adding flour (9-12) cups until ball forms and dough pulls from sides of bowl. Knead for 10 minutes and then place in large greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.

Pinch off ball of dough to work with and put on flour coated board. Roll out about ½ thick. Cut with 3-4 inch biscuit cutter. Dip each one in melted butter and fold(pocketbook) and place on greased
cookie sheet. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake in 400 degree oven . When they start to brown, you may take out, cool and freeze. Take out and cook as needed.

Personal Notes:
You may also use this dough for cinnamon rolls. Roll out and brush with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and slice. Place on greased pan and let rise again. Bake, cool and ice. These also freeze beautifully.
