2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. water
3 T. cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
½ c. buttermilk

CHOCOLATE ICING:
½ c. melted butter
3¾ c. powdered sugar
5 T. buttermilk
3 T. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar, and salt and set aside. Bring the butter, water, and cocoa to a light boil and pour over dry ingredients. Add eggs and beat well. Add soda and buttermilk and mix well.

Preheat oven to 350º. Bake on a 17-inch cookie sheet for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Mix icing ingredients and pour over cake while it is still hot. Put all of the frosting on at one time and spread quickly.

Sprinkle top of brownies with 1/2 cup chopped nuts, if desired.
