2 tbsp. shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup bran
3/4 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg, beat, then milk and bran.
Let soak until moisture is taken up.
Add flour and baking powder
