1 cup flour
¾ cup white sugar
½ tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together first four ingredients in a separate bowl and set aside. Drop one egg into a 1 cup measuring cup and lightly beat. Add milk to ¾ cup and enough butter to fill to 1 cup. Add vanilla. Mix well with dry ingredients. Pour into a greased 9" round pan or a 9" x 9" square pan. Bake at 350º F until golden. Test by inserting a knife into centre. If knife comes out clean, cake is done.
