Ingredients: 1 lb spicy Italian sausage 2 large potatoes, sliced in half and then sliced 1 medium onion 4 slices cooked bacon, optional (but is it really??) 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 cups chopped kale, packed in measuring cup 2 (8 oz.) cans chicken broth (or use chicken bouillon) 1 quart water 2 tsp flour, mixed with enough water to make a paste 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions:1. In a large pot, cook sausage over medium-high heat. 2. Add onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until onions are clear. 3. Reduce heat to medium and place potatoes in the pot. Slowly add chicken broth and water. Stir. 4. Cook on medium heat until potatoes are done, stirring occasionally. 5. Once potatoes are done, add flour paste and simmer for another 15 minutes. 6. Reduce heat to lowest setting and sprinkle in your kale and cooked bacon. 7. Slowly pour in cream while stirring. 8. Serve immediately. |

Notes: This stuff is amazing. It goes especially well with Olive Garden style bread sticks! You can also make this in a crock pot. Just add together all ingredients except flour, bacon, cream, and kale and put in the crock pot. Add remaining ingredients at the end the same way as in the original recipe.
