2 sticks margarine (Irene says Blue Bonnet)
1 cup light brown sugar

3 eggs
1 cup light molasses

4½ cups flour
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. cloves
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tbsp. baking soda

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º

Cream in large bowl: sugar and softened margarine

Add: eggs and molasses

Mix in: flour, spices, salt, baking soda

Irene says to refrigerate overnight, then roll and cut out

Bake 10-20 minutes

Irene is an old "Kellogg's" employee, who shared their recipe with me. It makes a delicious, old-fashioned molasses cookie. If I ever go public with my cookbook I'll have to get permission from Kellogg's to use this.
