1 can garbanzo beans

1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice (1 large lemon)

1/4 cup (60 ml) well-stirred tahini, see our homemade tahini recipe

1 small garlic clove, minced

4 tablespoons (30 ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for serving

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt to taste

2 to 3 tablespoons (30 to 45 ml) water

Dash ground paprika, for serving

Directions:
In a food processor puree tahini and lemon juice. Scape sides and add olive oil, garlic, cumin and salt & pepper. Process on puree setting until well blended (about 30 seconds). Rinse Garbanzo beans. Add to processor. Puree until smooth, adding water 1 tablespoon at a time as needed.

Note: I added some cayenne pepper for heat. Sprinkle with additional cayenne pepper or paprika when serving.
