½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup cocoa
½ cup milk
½ tsp salt
2 cups sugar

3 cups oatmeal
1 chopped apple (skin and all)
½ tsp. vanilla
½ cup nuts (optional)
½ cup coconut (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Put in 2 quart sauce pan: butter, cocoa, milk, salt, sugar

Boil for 2 minutes

Take off heat and add: oatmeal, apple, vanilla (nuts and coconut)

Stir

Drop by small scoops on waxed paper to cool

Candy-like cookie. The chopped apple makes this cookie moister than some boiled recipes. If you like them drier, just leave out the apple.
