1/4 cup butter

2 cups of diced potatoes
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped or shredded carrots
2 tsp minced garlic

1/2 cup flour

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
10 sprigs fresh thyme
8 cups chicken broth
1-8oz bottle clam juice
1 cup heavy cream

1 lb flounder, snapper, grouper, snook, or other firm meat fish, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 lb shrimp, chopped into large pieces
1 8oz container lump crab meat

1 tsp paprika


Directions:

Melt butter in a large soup pot.

Add potatoes, onion, and carrots and cook 6-8 minutes, adding garlic the last minute.

Add flour and cook 2 minutes. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, chicken broth, clam juice, and cream. Simmer 40 minutes.

Stir in seafood. Return to a simmer and cook 5-10 minutes or until fish is cooked through. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Sprinkle with paprika at the end.

If you don't have shrimp or crab meat, you can use 2 lbs of fish.
