1 pound fresh green beans
1 medium onion sliced and separated into rings
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
2 Tablespoons of water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
¼ teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan Cheese

Directions:
Wash the green beans, trim ends and remove strings. Add water to a depth of inch in a large skillet. Bring the water to a boil and add the beans. Cover, reduce heat and cook 6 to 8 minutes. Drain and place in ice water to stop the cooking. Let stand 5 minutes and drain well.

Cook onion and garlic in oil in a large skillet over medium high heat, stirring constantly until tender.
Add the green beans, cook I minute, stirring constantly. Remove and discard garlic. Sprinkle with
Parmesan Cheese.

Yield 3 servings per 1 cup serving.
