1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup (5 fl. oz) evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups marshmallows
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Line 8-inch square baking pan with foil. Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in medium, heavy duty saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Boil and stir occasionally for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips & vanilla extract. Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted. Pour into the prepared baking pan; refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Lift from pan with foil; remove foil. Cut into 48 pieces.

Every Christmas, Grandma would make fudge. She always saved a special tin for Mike (her oldest grandson) to take home. In Mike's mind, no one made fudge like Grandma. Every Christmas he would look forward to Grandma's fruit salad, and her fudge. He didn't even have to ask where the fudge was. He knew it was always tucked away in the same spot, hidden away from everyone else, and he knew exactly where to find it!
