chocolate fudge cake mix plus ingredients on box to make it.
½ gallon vanilla ice-cream
6 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
2 cans Eagle Brand milk
1 cup hot water
½ cup sugar
½ tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
optional toppings: whipped cream and maraschino cherries

Prepare chocolate fudge cake as directed on box and let cool. (I recommend Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Fudge Cake Mix or Betty Crocker Super Moist Triple Fudge Cake Mix). Next, melt chocolate in double broiler, then stir in Eagle Brand milk. Cook until thick, stir, and add hot water, then salt, sugar, and vanilla. When ready to serve, cut cake into squares and then slice each piece horizontally. For each serving, insert a generous amount of ice cream between the top and bottom layers of the cake and top with hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry.
