2 Cups sugar
1 pound butter plus 2 Tbl. for buttering the dish
1 Cup slivered almonds
1 Cup milk chocolate chips
1 Cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare 10x15 Pyrex dish by thoroughly buttering bottom and sides. (Do not use cooking spray because it will not cook off and ruin the taste.)

In non-reactive sauce pan, melt 1 lb. butter and 2 Cups of sugar. Over medium-low heat, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cover and boil for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile, wash spoon and prepare candy (or digital) thermometer). Remove cover, add almonds and insert thermometer. Cook, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 300º (hard crack stage).

Pour immediately into prepared pan, and spread (like lava). Immediately sprinkle milk chocolate chips over top and allow the heat to soften until spreadable consistency. Sprinkle chopped walnuts evenly over top and tap down to embed into chocolate layer using the back of a spoon.

Allow to cool completely/overnight. Use knife held vertically and pound with palm to break into irregularly shaped pieces and enjoy!
