1 lb pecan halves
1 egg white
1 tsp water
3/4 c sugar
1 to 2 Tbsp curry powder
2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 250º and toast pecans on a cookie sheet, stirring occasionally until fragrant, about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl whisk egg white and 1 tsp water until frothy. Stir in pecans and sprinkle with the sugar, curry powder and salt. Mix well.

Lightly coat the cookie sheet with vegetable cooking spray. Spread pecans in a single layer on the sheet.

Bake 1 hour or until pecans are dry, stirring once or twice.

Spread out on two cookie sheets (or waxed paper) to cool if necessary to prevent clumping.

I got this recipe from a Real Simple magazine, but decreased the curry powder and salt in my version. I made it several times as hostess gifts, especially during the holidays.
