Carmelized Onions Recipe

1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp olive oil

4 cups sliced onion
1 Tbsp sugar
Salt to taste

2 Tbsp brandy




Directions:
Directions:
Heat butter and oil in a large saute pan over medium-low heat.

Stir in onion, sugar, and salt. Cover and sweat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Uncover pan and continue to cook, stirring frequently, until onion is golden, 15 minutes.

Deglaze with brandy and cook until the liquid has evaporated.

Store onions in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
