2 cans whole tomatoes drained, 3 cups liquid reserved
21/2 tbsp packed dark brown sugar
1 medium inion finely chopped
3 cups vegetable broth
3 tbsp tomato paste 1/4 tsp ground allspice
1 can evaporated milk
1/4 cup shredded basil, about 10 large leaves
Salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 450. Line baking sheet with foil, spray with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange tomatoes in foil in single layer. Sprinkle with brown sugar; top with onion. Bake 25 minutes or until tomatoes look dry and light brown. Let tomatoes cool slightly; finely chop
Place tomatoe mixture, 3 cups reserved liquid for tomatoes, broth, tomato paste and allspice in crockpot. Mix well. Cover, cook on low 8 hours or high 4 hours
Add evaporated milk and shredded basil, seals. With salt and pepper. Cover. Cook on high 30 minutes or until heated through.
