Beets or beans

Syrup:

2 cups sugar
2 cups vinegar
1 cup water
1 T pickling spice

Directions:
Directions:
Salt beets/beans while cooking. Slice/cut beets/beans to desired size. Pack beets/beans in jars. Pour hot syrup over them. Cold pack for 20 minutes.

To cold pack, boil filled jars for 20 minutes. Put lids on, and as it cools, the lids seal.
