½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1½ c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
1 lb. shelled unroasted peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
Butter 2 baking sheets (15½"X12"X½") and keep warm. Mix baking soda in t tsp. water. Add vanilla and set aside. Combine sugar, 1 c. water and corn syrup in a large pan. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally to 240º. Stir in butter and peanuts. Cook stirring constantly to 300º. Immediately remove from heat and stir in soda water. Pour ½ of the candy on each warm baking sheet and quickly spread evenly about ¼" thick. Cool and break into pieces.
