2 eggs
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. self rising flour
2 sticks butter, melted
For topping:
1 stick butter
Scant 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. sliced almonds
1 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 º. Combine eggs and sugar and beat well. Stir in 1 c. flour and 2 sticks melted butter.
Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, to make topping, combine 1 stick butter, scant 1/2 c. sugar, sliced almonds., 1 Tbsp. flour and milk in a saucepan. Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove cake from oven and pour topping over cake while hot. Put back into the oven and broil for 3 - 5 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
Cool and cut into 2 inch squares to serve.
