4 quarts of cucumbers, sliced
1/3 cup salt
4 cups of sugar
1 t. turmeric powder
1 t. celery seed
2 T. mustard seeds
4 cups of white vinegar
2 cups of onions, sliced thin

Directions:
Directions:
Sterilize 3 quart jars. Set aside. Use new tops and rings. Slice cucumbers and sprinkle with salt. Let stand for 1 hour. Drain. In large pot, combine sugar, turmeric powder, celery seed, mustard seed, and vinegar. Bring to a boil. Add cucumbers and onions. Heat thoroughly but do not boil. Fill the 3 jars, sealing after each. (Have the lids in hot water to help seal.) Turn jars upside down and leave until they are cool.

This is the pickle I put in chicken and tuna salads. They are also delicious with sandwiches.
