2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
2 T. grated orange rind
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Frosting
2 1/2 T. butter
1 1/2 tsp. orange juice
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar (sifted)

Mix all together.

Heat oven to 400º. Mix shortening, sugar & egg throughly. Stir in orange juice and rind. Sift dry ingredients together. Blend into the first mixture. Drop by spoonsfull on greased pan. Bake until done. Frost when cool.
