Ingredients: 1 large onion 3-4 potatoes (cut in small bite size pieces) 2-3 large carrots, sliced salt & pepper to taste 2-3 c. water (enough to cook vegetables) 3-4 c. milk 4 slices bacon (cooked & crumbled) 1 tbsp. butter or margarine Homemade Noodle Recipe for dumplings parsley flakes (optional)

Directions:In large pan, cook onions in water. Add potatoes, carrots, salt & pepper, cook until tender. Add milk, bacon & butter. Add dumplings while bringing to boil, reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes. Add parsley, if desired. |

Ingredients: 1 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 egg 4 tbsp. milk

Directions: |
Directions:In bowl, add flour, salt, egg, and milk together and mix to make a soft dough. If dough is too dry add more milk. For dumplings - pick up some in hand and cut into small bite size pieces with kitchen scissors into boiling soup. Cook for about 10 minutes. For noodles - roll out on floured bread board, cover and let set several hours to dry out. |

Notes: You can use diced ham in place of bacon. When serving add a teaspoon of butter on top, if desired.
