5 C flour
12 eggs
2 1/2 C sugar
2 C Crisco vegetable oil
pinch salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1-2 tsp. oil of anise (I buy mine at the pharmacy)
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, salt baking powder. Set aside. Beat eggs until lemon colored. Add vanilla and anise oil. Gradually add sugar and oil in alternating increments and beat well after each addition. If you touch the mixture and it is sugary, continue to beat. Add flour, a cup at a time until well blended. Heat the Pizzelle iron and brush lightly with oil. Use one tsp. of dough for each pizzelle. Transfer to wire racks.

We have used this recipe for over 60 years. If you like crisp pizzelles,this recipe from Honey is the best. It was the only one Mom used.
