2 fluid oz. red food coloring
3 tbsp. milk chocolate cocoa (like Quickİ)
½ c. solid Criscoİ
1½ c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2½ c. sifted flour
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking powder

Directions:

Mix together red food coloring and cocoa powder - set aside Gradually cream Criscoİ and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Add cocoa mixture to buttermilk. Alternately add buttermilk mixture and flour mixed with salt. Add vanilla and beat well. By hand stir in vinegar, followed by baking powder.. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8" round cake pans. Bake at 350ş for 30-35 minutes. When cool, cut each layer in half, making four layers. Frost with either Mock Whipped Cream frosting or Disneyland Frosting.
