3½ c. sifted flour
2 tsp. salt
1½ c. butter
½ cake yeast
½ c. milk
2 egg yolks
Filling:
1 lb. brown sugar
1 lb. nuts chopped fine
maple flavoring to taste
milk enough to hold all together
granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and salt together. Cut in butter. Heat milk to luke warm. Dissolve yeast in milk. Beat eggs and pour into yeast mixture. Add to flour all at once, work with hands until well mixed and able to hold together. In a bowl mix brown sugar, nuts, maple flavoring and milk until well blended. Break off dough to the size of a walnut. Flatten ball in granulated sugar, flip so both sides are covered in sugar. Put a bit of filling in the center, fold in half, press to seal and curve to a crescent shape. Place cookies on slightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º until golden brown (about 20 minutes).
