Mix in a saucepan:
2/3 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp flour

Separate 3 egg yolks and set aside

Heat in a separate pan and stir in:
3 c milk

After combining ingredients, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, cook to boil then boil for one minute. Remove from heat and take 1 c mixture and add to 3 slightly beaten egg yolks, returning to original mixture boiling for one more minute, adding 1 tbsp butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Let cool on counter for 10 minutes, then add sliced bananas.

Use this in a 9X13 pan lined with vanilla wafers, layer with the banana mixture and crumble some on top.
